Step 1: Shut Off the Water Supply
Before starting, locate the water valve behind your toilet and turn it off completely. This stops water from flowing into the toilet tank. Next, flush the toilet to empty the tank, ensuring that no water is left inside.
Step 2: Gather Your Tools
Prepare the tools you'll need: a screwdriver to remove the toilet seat, and an adjustable wrench or pliers to loosen any tight fittings. It's a good idea to have a towel on hand to wipe up any residual water that might spill during the process.
Step 3: Remove the Toilet Seat
Carefully remove the existing toilet seat using the screwdriver. Take this opportunity to give the area around the toilet seat a thorough clean, ensuring a hygienic base for the new bidet installation.
Step 4: Attach the Bidet
Follow the instructions to connect the bidet to your toilet's water supply using the provided adapters and hoses. Attach the bidet securely to the toilet, ensuring all connections are tight and leak-free.
Step 5: Reinstall the Toilet Seat
If you're installing a bidet attachment, place your toilet seat back in its original position over the bidet attachment. For handheld sprayers, install the hanger in a convenient spot. If you’re installing a full bidet toilet seat, this will completely replace your old seat.
